Transform Your Net Zero Strategy

Identify Hidden Emission Sources

Many organizations struggle to pinpoint all sources of carbon emissions, particularly those hidden in supply chains or overlooked operational areas.

In this session, we will help you uncover these hidden contributors, providing a clear picture of your organization's true carbon footprint. Identifying these emissions is crucial for setting accurate reduction targets and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

By addressing these often-overlooked areas, you can significantly reduce your environmental impact and improve your sustainability performance.

Tailored Strategies for Maximum Impact

Generic sustainability strategies often fail to address the unique needs and challenges of individual organizations.

In your Carbon Assessment session, we will develop customized strategies that align with your specific goals, industry standards, and operational realities.

This tailored approach ensures that your efforts are not only effective but also practical and achievable within your existing framework. By focusing on solutions that work for your organization, you can maximize the impact of your sustainability initiatives and drive meaningful progress toward Net-Zero.

Stay Ahead of Regulatory Changes

The regulatory landscape surrounding carbon emissions is constantly evolving, with new laws and standards being introduced regularly.

Keeping up with these changes can be challenging, but it's essential to avoid penalties and maintain your organization's reputation.

During the assessment, we will review your current compliance status and provide insights into upcoming regulations that may affect your operations. By staying informed and proactive, you can ensure your organization is always ahead of the curve, reducing risks and capitalizing on opportunities in the sustainability space.

Net-Zero Circularity City Suburb

San Fransisco, CA

Here’s a suburban development we are working on just outside of San Francisco that drives to net zero.

20 Acres; 750 Units, 100kSF Retail. 1,000+ Jobs/Residents.

It gets stitched into the fabric of that territory that many American cities have; a zone of nowhere: +-1950/60 strip malls, and underutilized infrastructure.

The goal is to both build and manage regenerative, resilient community developments. The financial model is rental, so management can ensure circularity principles.

Local food production, water management, clean energy, micro heat pumps by Ruhl TecConsult, and waste systems are designed at the community scale, comprehensive, ecological landscaping, and low carbon hard surfaces where walkability and micro mobility are key to the success of this model.

High performance buildings: we’ve designed a maximum of 9 CLT flip plates, shop fabricated, zero waste, with Mitrex Solar (BIPV) honeycomb solar skins. Data shows a global rental market growth from $1.8T4Q23--$2.6T4Q25.

Redefining Urbanism

Creative, Sustainable Solutions for the Future of Design

Innovative Architecture and Landscape Design that Transforms Spaces into Dynamic, Sustainable Environments

Urban A&O specializes in advanced net-zero/carbon-neutral design and strategy work for Fortune 50 companies and institutional clients with projects world-wide evolved from sponsored faculty research at Harvard, where Joe focused on emerging computational and environmental research.

In 2008, with a double-platinum LEED certificate for Cal Academy and a gold for Beijing, UA&O began to focus more specifically on new definitions of net-zero/carbon neutral urbanism, architecture, and landscape as they relate to climate change, sustainability, and future-proofing our planet, inspired by partners around the globe--the Eden Project in Cornwall, England UK, the Stockholm Resilience Centre, a non-profit, independent research institute specializing in sustainable development and environmental issues, and partners-in-practice in Copenhagen, Oslo and Helsinki.

Applying advanced computational design skillsets to global definitions of a resilient future in the built environment — built ecologies — sets Urban A&O’s practice apart from other American counterparts.

Our Work

Urban A&O has been recognized globally for its groundbreaking contributions to sustainable architecture and design, earning prestigious awards in energy efficiency, environmental management, and innovative urbanism.
